Definition: | This data element is used to clarify the process that was used to identify the patient for data collection. During the pilot project, patients may be identified as part of a random sample of all patients 18 years of age or older, OR as part of a sample of patients that were identified through a data collection log (who have already been determined to have a positive screen for alcohol or tobacco). |
