Question: Follow-up to UserQuestionId9991000003

This is follow up to a prior question: "
Recent changes to PC01 and implications. Ask to submit eCQM instead of abstracted measure";.
Thank you for your prompt response. The way I understand your response and specification 2024B is that the abstracted value should be of the highest priority while the gestational age ICD10 code is the lowest. Is that correct? We partner with Premier, and their response is that TJC created the algorithm in a manner such that the ICD code always takes precedence over the gestational age data element. They have said they have to follow the algorithm specifications regardless of discrepancies with the text of the notes for abstraction.
Additionally, Premier has responded that they will not be making any changes to their logic based on TJC feedback to not remove the ICD10 tables for gestational age until 2025A is released for the 2025 discharges. Due to their position on this, we are at a loss as to how to proceed. In order to delete the gestational age ICD10, we would have to wait 12 weeks until our data "lock" date so that no new codes come into the database. Our other option is trying our hand at the eCQM for PC-01 but as of right now our report build is not complete and will take some time to complete. We know that PC-01 and 02 are no longer required but we still submit PC-01 due to our perinatal certifications for some of our sites. Can you offer any suggestions or any insights I can provide to Premier? We greatly appreciate your assistance.
Answer:
Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. The PC-01 measure is required for ACPC; however, there is not a threshold requirement for the measure rate and would not impact certification. The 2025A manual will have the updated algorithm and the email announcement will have the guidance for abstracting gestational age at delivery for the 2024B manual as per the Gestational Age data element notes for abstraction. Please feel free to have Premier reach out to us via this platform if they would like further information.
