Question: What are the benchmarks for the new Outpatient Stroke Core Measures?

For the new door to transfer times required to be tracked by Primary Stroke Centers, what are the benchmarks?

Answer:

Nia, Benchmarks for STK-OP-1 have not been set. The Brain Attack Coalition recommends that all stroke patients should be transferred within 2 hours of arrival to the hospital ED. The Joint Commission anticipates longer transferred for some groups of stroke patients than others. For example, ischemic stroke patients with LVO and eligible for MER may transfer sooner. Thank you for your inquiry.
