Question: Stroke core measure data for PSC hospitals

In a recent email on recent changes on core measures requirements for 2016, all of the stroke core measures, except STK 4, are being retired. At present, PSC hospitals have to enter the monthly aggregated data for the stroke core measures into the CMIP. Will this still be required in 2016?

Answer:

Joint Commission alignment with the CMS final rule impacts performance measure requirements for hospital accreditation purposes only. The performance measure requirements for certified PSCs remain unchanged. Data collection for all 8 stroke core measures is still required to achieve and/or maintain certification status. Hope this clarifies for you. Thank you for your inquiry.
