Question: Abstraction Tools

Are there abstraction tools or CART tools available for the ASR-OP measures?

Also, for the Acute Stroke Readiness data is patient level data required to be submitted or is it only the numerator/denominator?

Thank you

Answer:

Vendor tools will be available very soon that can be used to abstract the ASR measures. If your organization is interested in selecting a vendor, please submit a request to HCOOryx@jointcommission.org. Vendor-submitted data are automatically transferred by The Joint Commission to the HCOs CMIP tool on The Joint Commission Connect secure-extranet site.

If the organization does not use a vendor, the it must manually submit monthly data points for each required measure and enter the data into its CMIP tool. Numerator and denominator values are submitted for must measures. Since ASR-OP-2 Door to Transfer to Another Hospital is a continuous variable rather than proportion measure, the HCO will need to submit the total number of cases in each strata for the reporting, and also a CV value which is the median time in minutes.

Thank you for your inquiry.
