Question: What are follow-up expectations of vendors on DR=2's?

Answer:

With regard to vendor follow-up on DR=2's for non-core measures, we would ask you to review the history of the measure at the HCO and vendor level in order to determine whether a measure change may be necessary for the organization (or measure retirement by the vendor) if it is consistently not applicable to them (no cases), and therefore not identifying opportunities for improvement in patient care.

For DR=2's for core measures, again, we would ask you to review the history of the measure at the HCO level to determine if data collection for the measure is appropriate for the HCO. If specific services are not offered by the organization, then these measures should be end dated with the Joint Commission versus continuously sending DR=2's which may impact data integrity. HCO education related to data collection for certain measures may also be warranted if DR=2's are continuously reported for a measure where these services ARE provided by the HCO.
