Question: Triglyceride >400mg/dL

How should the data elements "LDL Not Measured within 48 Hours or 30 Days Prior to Hospital Arrival" and "LDL >/= 100mg/dL" be abstracted when an LDL level was done but not reported due to an invalid LDL-c result, i.e., Triglyceride >400 mg/dL?

Answer:

A value that is not calculated due to elevated triglycerides is the same as No LDL Measured. Select 'No' for *LDL Measured Within the First 48 Hours or 30 Days Prior to Hospital Arrival*.
