Question: Will files be rejected if all procedure codes do not have a procedure time?

For measures CSTK-01 and CSTK-03, do all procedure codes submitted require a procedure time, or only those procedures detailed on Tables 8.1a or 8.1b (CSTK-01 and Tables 8.2d or 8.2e (CSTK-03?))

Answer:

1. Any reported procedure code must exist in the master code list; otherwise, the file is rejected. 2. Any reported procedure code must be associated with procedure date, even it’s not used by measure calculation; otherwise the file is rejected. 3. The procedure time is CSTK measure set specific data element, and handled by the measure calculation: • Any interested procedure code (in requested table, such as 8.1a or 8.1b for CSTK-01; and 8.2d or 8.2e for CSTK-03, must have non-UTD date and time value in order to pass the measure. • If multiple interested procedure codes present, for example, there are IV t-PA and IA t-PA and mechanical endovascular reperfusion therapy performed during an episode of care, ALL interested procedure codes must be associated with non-UTD date and time value in order to pass the measure. • If a procedure code isn’t used by the measure calculation, the procedure time does not impact the measure result.
